20th March 2010

it was the 3rd week, so we wore uniform. squad 5 had 11 members today, gratz o ^^

we had praise and worship after that by song leader darren =) his first time being song leader, jia you =D

during Bible class, we watched a movie of Moses. about how his mum saved him from the pharoah, but we didnt get to finish the movie =(

we dont have Badge class this week because Sgt is still discussing with the officers on what badge we're going to take, so we had squad activity. this week, we continue with our squad Objective, which is Building Relationship =) so we had this game, each have a partner, and then each ask each other 3 questions that we dont know about them. and add another question, How do you think squad5 can build up its relationship? for example, what activities can we do and how to achieve it. ^^ so we each know 3 more things about each other already =) and we have new ideas on how to build up our relationships =P

guys, Michael cant be joining us in BB for 3 months. T.T because he's having tuition on every Saturday. we hope that after that 3 months, he will still have interest in BB and come back =)

Jean cant be joining us too, because her mum wants her to study for PMR, jia you owh =)

so, please study hard for your exams yea, so that your parents will 放心 (is that the writing? =x)
and let you come for BB, gambateh and thanks =P

after that was drill, we continue practising for Pesta drill. and other drill teams practised their drilling. then, captain ball ^^ since we had 11 members today, so we borrowed 2 members to other squads =) we VS. squad 4 and squad 6. and we drawed, gratz yea ^^

- next week (27th March), there will be NO BB, because there will be a wedding held in church..
- 3rd April, dresscode is full mufti because the next day (4th April) will be Enrolment Day, u will have to wear full Uniform. NCOs' attendance is compulsary, for other members, if u wanna come, please wear full uniform too..9am yea, please bb punctual =)

Annual Camp 2010 =)

13th March

members gathered at church at 9am, thanks for being punctual. after anchor song and briefing, we boarded the bus =P in the bus, nothing to do for the 3hour bus-ride, we played mafia, sing songs and CHO DAI DI. =x =x but ofcourse we didnt bet. =)

after that, we finally reached our destination, Ayer Keroh, Melaka. ^^ during this camp, Sgt Ric "BOSS" wants each group to volunteer to serve the food and clean up after that, so groups will have to take turns to do those jobs. =D after going into our SUPER-NICE-CHALET, Sir Tam divided us into 5 groups. which are, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Elite =) so, these 5 groups are departments in a company "1st kajang coy", with our BOSS Sgt Ric xD after that, we had Praise and Worship session by BOSS =x

then, time for ice breaking and games =P first we had this game, which we have to each find 1 partner. after that, we have to hold each other's hands and squat down, then we have to communicate with each other and work together to stand up. we had the "tallest, biggest" game after that. BOSS will say like "tallest" then we have to find some1 in our group that represents tallest. after going out, then only he will say tallest what. so quite hard and damn funny =P the winners were 1st-Bravo, 2nd-Alpha, 3rd-Chalie, so the 2 groups that lose, Delta and Elite will have to clean up on the 2 nights, meaning, wash the toilets. =x

we were supposed to have obstacle course, but it rained, so changed to free time =D girls went to bath first, and others played truth or dare and many others, to have fellowship with each member =)

after praying, we had dinner ^^ then, we had Praise and Worship session by Alpha, and games by Bravo, but during the chicken game, we got out-of-control, so BOSS stopped the game. guys, please remember that although this is a relax camp, but still you are BB members, this is not how a BB member should act.

we had sermon by Pastor Joe, about All for One, and One for All =) the bible verses are
Ephisians 4:4-6 and 15-16
Philippians 1:27
you should really read it, very meaningful. we learnt about unity. and that the source of unity are cooperation, having the same vision, common faith - the Lord, and common grace - free given to us by the Lord, so we are saved.

for example, like a cake, it's made up of flour, egg and other things. individually, they taste quite bad, but once they are ONE, once they are mixed together, the produce a very good taste, they become ONE CAKE. and if added with yeast, they expand and become better. same thing, individually each member can do not much, but when we work tegether, having unity, we produce good results, and we become ONE COMPANY. and together with Christ, we expand and become so much better. =)

Pastor Joe told us to just close our eyes, it's just between you and God, and put your hands on the person next to you who havent believe in the Lord, and pray for them. we had a few minutes of pure silence, just praying, not talking to each other, just praying. after that we sang One Voice.
we had discussion after that:
1. How can I show Unity in my family, school, country, and BB?
2. How can I show God's Love to people around me?
3. How can BB be more united?

after that, we had free time, Elite went to wash the toilet, thanks Elite =)
lights out at 12.

14th March

woke up and had exercise led by Sgt anson. after breakfast, we had service because it was a sunday =) Sgt anson led us with worship. then pastor Joe continued to talk to us about Unity. today's topic is One for All and All for God. read
John 17:11, 20-21
and then we had to form the alphabets "UNITY", each group take 1 alpha. we showed trust and unity when forming the alpha =P

after lunch, we went to Malacca Zoo and Bee Museum. at the zoo, we took alot of pics with the animals. xD at the Bee museum, the aunty told us some information about bees and we got to taste different types of honey =D some even bought honey that can make your skin smoother =x after that supposed to go for obstacle course, but it rained T.T so we had free time again.

after dinner, group Charlie led the praise and worship session, and Kai Xian from Delta led the games. after that we had night walk, by Sgt richard. through this nightwalk, we learnt to voice out opinions and trust your leader's dicision. after that tk and jason shared =)

then sir let us free time till 2am must sleep, wohoo ^^ so then we sang birthday song to Lois ^^

15th March

exercise led by Sgt Lois, the 'queen' =x then breakfast, and praise & worship session and games by Elite. after that we FINALLY had obstacle course ^^ we were separated into 2 groups, 1st group alpha, bravo and half of charlie, 2nd group half of charlie, delta and elite. so we had to trust our leader to lead us through the obstacle course =) after lunch, we prayed and went back =P

1. next week (13 March) there will be NO BB, because most members will be going to Malacca for Annual Camp, so for those who are not going for the camp, you dont need to come to church as there will be no one there, please take note.

Annual Camp details
Date : 13-15 March (3 day 2 night camp)
Venue : Ayer Keroh campsite, Malacca
Things to bring : you can get the things to bring list from anita, please bring your mufti T-shirt too, you dont need to bring full uniform.
Time: 13 march, gather at church before 9am, please be punctual. until 15 march at 4pm, please inform your parents to fetch you.
Dresscode : when you come to church at 13 march, please wear casual clothes, any T-shirt and pants (no jeans), and sports shoe (please wear socks that can be seen).
other notes:
- girls please dont bring pants that are shorter than your knees, dont bring sleeve-less shirts, no high heels.

6th March 2010

parade, squad5 only had 9 members T.T new updates : jean will not be able to join BB this year, as her parents want her to concentrate on her music exam and PMR. so we wish her well and we will wait for her to join us again next time =)

praise and worship session, l/cpl soo lee was the song leader. we sang 一件礼物,去实现 and Now that You're near. he shared about the meanings, like 一件礼物, that the Lord is the gift that cannot be replaced and it's free to all =) and that we have to 去实现 (to achieve) our goals in life, and also NOW that God is near =D

today, we have 2 very special guests, pastor Nelson and his wife. as you all should know already, pastor Nelson was the very FIRST chaplain in 1st kajang coy!! and he was there 41 years ago serving this company, and now he sees how much we have grown =P

so he came up, and gave a short message to us. about a story of based on the show Chariots of Fire, the guy named Eric who was a pro 100m runner, and represents the British Olympics team, whoa!! =x so when he found out that the competition was on a sunday. so, he told his manager :"no, i will not go for the competition, because i have to go to church on Sunday." so instead, he joined the 400m race, which wasnt on a Sunday. he normally run 100m, so it's quite a big challenge to him. on that day of the race, a guy gave him a note. the note writes a verse from 1 Samuel "those who Honour Me, I myself will Honour Him". a very meaningful verse =) so after they started the race, guess what? he won the race, and broke the record!! so learn from this verse, and put into practice yea ^^

Bible class, we learnt about Luke chapter 14. Jesus went to eat in a Pharisee's house. and so Jesus asked them whether is it wrong to heal on a sabbath. because to them, no one can work on a Sunday. they wanted to trick Jesus. and that, when you are invited to a feast, be humble, sit in a humble seat, not the honours seat. =)

then is was, AWARDS session =) so everyone gathered at Worship Hall, and sat. then they started giving out awards, like communication, computer and alot more. and others like 1,3 and long yr service, jr service, scholastic. then promotion. so, Sgt Lois, Cpl soo lee, xiao Lye, josh ng, nic, l/cpl marcus, anita, jessica, jason w, beelan and kok wei. gratz to those who got badges and promotions. =P to those who didnt get any, dont be sad. LEARN from the past. =)

then it was time for squad activity. today, squad5 chose posts. horh horh. so these were the results. Asst squad leader - waihoeng, help the squad and squad leader, like when the leader is not there, he will have to back up and be in charge. =P Attendance - daniel, taking attendance of squad members every week. so his attendace must be good too yea. =D Treasurer - michael, for any BB programs like camp and others, please submit your forms and money to him =) Uniform parts - Sgt ric, if your uniform parts is not complete, please get the form from Sgt and give the money to him too.

squad target 2010 =) squad camp 2010!! wohoo ^^ i'm sure many of you went to the squad camp 2009 right? and we miss it so much, so squad camp is back this year 2010 =D win captain ball league ^^ i know these few weeks we lose the captain ball matches, but dont let that stop you from trying your best. i'm sure if we put our everything into doing it, we CAN achieve it =)

27th Febuary 2010

it's the 4th week of the month!! which means, mufti =x

during parade today, the whole senior section got punished because we were late for parade. please remember that we are supposed to fall in BEFORE 2.50pm, so please prepare at 2.45pm itself. thanks =)

praise and worship, today's song leader is marcus. this is the 1st time he's the song leader, so gratz to him for being sporting ^^ we sang, My Redeemer Lives, 分享, and Lord I Lift Your Name On High.

after that was squad activity. sadly to say, squad5 have 14members originally, but today only 7 members came. guys, what happened? T.T what happened to the high spirits last time? O.o jia you yea =) so we played the 'dit dit dit' game. but this time we played it differently. the game is like this, 1 person will start to 'dit dit dit', then he will point at another person and saying his name, this is just like an ice breaking game. instead off saying each member's name, we change it to saying out 1 thing that represents them. so through this game, we each learnt something about each other =P

since it's the 4th week, so the 2 Sgts planned a game for senior section. this game was played in ANTS (advance NCO training school) before. the rules of this game are:
1. Sgt will choose 3 leaders, and only the leaders can talk, discuss and order us, if any members speak or talk, the member that talked will be pumped 10times, the others 15times, and the leaders 20times.
2. Sgt drew a few rows of chairs in a formation, the leaders will have to lead us to do that formation the fastest we can.

the objectives of this game is:
1. to teach the elder seniors that sometimes, they have to listen to their younger seniors also, because sometimes, they might have better ideas.
2. to give a chance to younger seniors to lead the elder ones.
3. to train communication skills and teamwork between members to achieve something.
4. LEARN from your mistakes.
5. follow and obey your leader.

so after playing the game quite a few times, we keep breaking our records. first, we finised it in 1.05minutes, then slowly to 58seconds, then 46seconds, got once we became slower, after Sir Tam gave us his suggestion and leaded us, we finished it in 18 seconds!! you see, from 1minute to 18 seconds, gratz guys!! ^^

we had drill after that. members fall-ed in according to their drilling squads. chee wah was the commander. so when we reached the chinese primary school, we started drilling right away. L/CPL xiao lye taught the newer members, the 2 Sgts taught the pesta drilling competition squad, and CPL taught the other members. so for the pesta drilling competition, there is still chance for the other senior members to join the team, you just have to try your best and do better than the members that are in the team already. so, jia you =)

captain ball =) we combined a few squads together. all squad3 and squad 2 members were divided into other squads. so we only had time to play 1 game. after the long and tiring game, the results were squad4 won squad1, 8-4. and squad6 won squad5, 5-2. gratz to those who won, and to those who lose, gambateh and improve yourselves =P

after that, we dismissed. =P

others:
- 6 march (next saturday) is Awards Day, please try your best to come. we target for all 14members of squad5 to be present on that day yea =)
- Annual Camp form is out, you can get it from Sir Tam Zhi Yang. date is, 13-15 of march. forms must be submitted latest by next saturday, and only limited places of 50members, so get it fast!! coz the squad with most members will get a prize =D
- squad member philip's birthday is coming up, on the 4th of march, you can get his number from Sgt ric or anita. thanks ^^
