as u all know, last week there wasnt any BB, so how was ur cny? =)

since today is still 'chu 7', so we broke the BB record after so many years, whole senior and junior section 38 members. -.- but it's okay, alot was still in the cny mood. but we thank God, squad5 had 7 members =P

for praise and worship session, today's song leader is Jason wong. so we sang Hari Ini, the new song 最珍贵的角落, and One way. then captain came and speak a few words with us =D

later then, we had bible class. as usual, english senior section under-15 went for Uncle mike's class in Library. we continue learning about Luke 12, Uncle mike gave us another Crossword puzzle. so we like, had to look through the verses and write down the answer with the verse at the side, so that we can do revision next time by reading the verse. Luke chapter 12 is like telling us about God's warning and encouragements. that why are we afraid of murderers while we are supposed to fear God because He has the power to put us to hell? and that we should find for treasures of the Heaven, NOT treasures in this world that is not rich towards God. =) we also learnt not to worry about everything and just let God guide u. ^^

after that was badge class. since most of the seniors were absent, so instead Sgt Ric asked us to give suggestions on what badges we would want to take for eyar 2010. so the suggestions were arts & craft, physical training, christian education, drill, environmental conservation, swimming, community service, safety, first aid and others. so after voting, the suggestion came to this. march we'll take arts & craft, and others months is environmental conservation. then there will be a Community Service 3 day camp at september, so we'll take that badge on september =P then safety badge and end of year would probably be physical training, wohoo =x but dont forget yea, that this is just our suggestion, Sgt ric and anson will discuss with the officers and let us know later =D

squad activity ^^ remember that last year we had alot of squad targets and objectives but we didnt achieve most of them? we think that if we set alot of targets at once, we cannot focus on any of them, and so, we dont achieve them. so this year, a new year =) we will change the style. we will discuss on an objective, just ONE objective and focus on it only. and we'll set a time limit for us to achieve it, for example how long do u need to achieve it, 2 months? so, after discussion. the suggestions on our 1st objectives were recruitment, building relationship and discipline. so we chose building relationship. we think that 14members is enough for now, and that we should build our relationship 1st, and then start recruiting members. and we set to achieve this objective in 1 month =x so, to achieve this, all of our members must cooperate, then only we can pass this objective =) so, gambateh!! ^^ and as for next week's squad activity, please try ur best to come, as we are going to choose posts. for assistant squad leader, uniform part, attendance and treasurer. =P

after dismiss, we went to the chinese primary school to play captain ball!! ^^ so, since there were too few members, we combined squads. squad 1, 2 and 3 combined together into a team, squad 4 and 6 together, and we squad5 can stay as a team because exactly 7 members =x gratz!! ^^ so start!! 1st game, squad 4 and 6 VS. squad5. after the tiring game, we lose 5-2. T.T anyhow, gratz to them, and squad5, jia you =) then squad 1, 2 and 3 VS. squad 4 and 6. squad 4 and 6 won 4-3. last game squad5 VS. squad 1, 2 and 3. we won 8-7 ^^ gratz to all teams, u tried ur best =P

- next week we'll be choosing posts during squad activity, so please come yea =)
- praise and worship exam, for those that are involved, please gather at church on the 27th Feb (next saturday) at 12.30pm sharp. please be punctual. for those that didnt come without any good reason, will be kicked out of the worship team. for more info, contact bk or jes.
- awards day is on 6th March, please submit any reports with evidence if u're applying for badges as soon as possible.

sq5 rocks!!

6 Of Feb

Today our attendance only 53members including junior. But our squad still ok,got 9 members.^^ So after parade is Praise & worship. we sing our 1st song hari ini.Guess what happen? keyboard and guitarist play F key,pianist and bass play G key -.- very obviously. Actually we dint communicate to each other that's why come out this problem. But we still worshipping our God.

after that, junior standard 456 will combined with seniors Chinese Bible class. We watch a movie. today no badge class and drill. So after bible class was squad activity. everyone talk in the squad activity =) we caring and know more to each other.Some member share about their marathon,some share about their sickness. It is a good improved for our squad =)

Then we have games,we divide to 4groups and l/cpl josh,nic and xl will lead us. So the 1st games is about teamwork. l/cpl nic will say he want how many leg,hand and head. Then the other groups will start to do. Is challenge which group faster. so skip xD After games we have captain ball ^^ everyone also participate. At the end,as usual we have girls vs girls. haha

after that we dismissed..

1. this coming saturday 13th February, there is NO bb programs..because it's Chinese New Year Eve..hope u guys enjoy ur CNY..=P keep ur angpau-s, save & dont waste!! =x

2. this friday 12th February is SGT anson's 18th birthday..^^ remember to wish him yea, u can get his number from anita..=D

3. we will continue BB on the 20th of February, dresscode is Full Uniform, polish well..=D that day is also Praise & Worship Exam day, gather at church at 12pm..

4. Awards Day is on the first week of March, 6th March..=)

Dear Sq5 members,

Firstly,wanna thanks that all sq5 members for your co-operation and ur supportive to this quite childish squad.During the past 1 year,the squad is growing to more stronger,the dedication and spirit of you guys is really amazed me.
And now,a new year,new life,new hope,new resolution,new generation and our new sq5 leader Anita lim. She will take over my place,and hope you guys really can work together with her no matter the way is easy or hard.Most of all,we must always remember that what the Brigade seeks to do is to train up good,true boys and girls,well prepared,physically and morally,for the battle of life,in whatever sphere they may choose.It will thus be seen that the brigade aims at taking up all that enters into healthy boy-life,and consecrating it to the service of God.

30th January 2010

today is the 5th saturday, so we have Special Program in BB..^^ so the members that are taking communication exam came at 12pm, and started the exam..we are seperated into 2 sections, theory and practical..so some took theory 1st, some took practical 1st..=)

we started off with parade, then praise and worship by sgt Ric..we sang My Life is in You, Now That You're Near and Beautiful Savior..glad to see members WORSHIP and PRAISE the Lord..^^

then, as juniors went down to have games, seniors stayed at Worship Hall..and sgt divided us into 8 groups..and we started the game..there are 4 stations, sgt anson, cpl lois, l/cpl felicia and l/cpl nic's station..and since there are 8 groups, the game is played throught PK, means 2 groups will compete in a station..here are the games..

cpl lois -
2 teams face each other, a table in the middle with many pieces of breads..and each group is given a pair of super-long-chopsticks, and they only clue cpl lois give us, is to eat as many breads we can using the long chopsticks..so the solution to play this game, is u have to think ur own, how are u going to eat the bread with the long chopsticks? the only way, is to feed the other team bread..it is IMPOSSIBLE to use the chopsticks to feed ur own..so, teams are supposed to use the chopsticks to feed each other in the other team..this game is created by the Bible story..is like in heaven and hell..in hell, there are many delicious food on the table, with long chopsticks, so people in hell only think of themselves, so they only try to feed their own, so they cant eat anything at all..BUT..in heaven, everyone feed each other with the long chopsticks, and everyone get to eat..=) this games teaches us to not be selfish and think of our own only..if u help others, others will help u too..and once u help each other, both teams also will get what they want..=P

sgt anson-
the ping pong game..^^ there are 2 Bible verses written on the white board, so we like have to play ping pong and say the Bible verses at the same time..the Bible verses are John 3:16 and Luke 10:27..so the game goes on like this..each team member stand at one side of the ping pong table, then the 1st team start the ball, and have to say the 1st word of the bible verse, then the 2nd team hit back the ball, and have to say the next word..this game needs a lot of concentration and at the same time, teaches us that God loves us (John 3:16) and we have to love God (Luke 10:27)..=P

l/cpl feli-
passing msges..the 1st member from the 2 teams will meet l/cpl feli, then she will give us bible verses and we have to pass msges to our team members, and the last one will have to tell her the sentence..she gave us a lot of bible knowledge, like the books of the bible, and God's promises..throught this game, we learnt about the 8 things and attitudes God wants us to do in this world, and so, God will make us His children, and we will receive what He promised us..=D

l/cpl nic-
sketch!! ^^ first each team will be given a Bible verse, then we will have to act out the scene..some got about the story of how Jesus was born, or like the miracles of God..and each team will act out, according to the story..through this game, we learnt many things that God has done, and we now know more about the Bible..=)

the results will be announced next week together with the prize giving..=D

after that, we had captain ball!! ^^ so we went back to our own squads and play with other squads..1st game, squad1 vs. squad2, squad3 vs. squad4, and squad5 vs. squad6..=) and the game, started!! after that was squad1 vs. squad6, squad3 vs. squad2 and squad5 vs. squad4..and captain ball ended..anyhow, gratz to all squads..i'm sure u tried ur best and continue improving..^^

the objective of today's special program, is for us to have a closer relationship between members, and most importantly, learn more about God, and share to others..^^

- dont forget that there is a worship team exam on the next saturday (6th February), for members that are learning, please remember to practise the song..gather at church before 12pm, please be punctual..thanks..
